“Much like fine wine, battle-hardened assassins grow better with age.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner
Four women assassins, senior in status—and in age—sharpen their knives for another bloody good adventure in this riotous follow-up to the New York Times bestselling sensation Killers of a Certain Age.

After more than a year of laying low, Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie are called back into action. They have enjoyed their time off, but the lack of excitement is starting to chafe: a professional killer can only take so many watercolor classes and yoga sessions without itching to strangle someone...literally. When they receive a summons from the head of the elite assassin organization known as the Museum, they are ready tackle the greatest challenge of their careers.
Someone on the inside has compiled a list of important kills committed by Museum agents, connected to a single, shadowy figure, an Eastern European gangster with an iron fist, some serious criminal ambition, and a tendency to kill first and ask questions later. This new nemesis is murdering agents who got in the way of their power hungry plans and the aging quartet of killers is next.
Together the foursome embark on a wild ride across the globe on the double mission of rooting out the Museum’s mole and hunting down the gangster who seems to know their next move before they make it. Their enemy is unlike any they’ve faced before, and it will take all their killer experience to get out of this mission alive.

Jane Oppenheimer and Christina Delaine offer outstanding performances as four 50-something retired assassins find themselves back in the game, sponsored by a mysterious entity called "The Museum." After the death of one of their own, The Museum believes there's a security leak. Bored with their retirement lives, Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie relish the opportunity to get back to the work they love: killing bad people. Oppenheimer, as Billie, handles the first-person action with exasperated humor. Her range is fluid, allowing each woman her own quirky personality. Delaine's lush, rich tones bring the objective third-person descriptions a necessary gravitas while maintaining the story's underlying humor. Terrific narrations, twisty plotting, and laugh-out-loud moments make this second book in Raybourn's delightful series a must-listen. S.J.H. Professional assassins Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie used to go on undercover assignments in far-flung, exciting locations, from the Playboy Mansion to Venice, Montenegro, and Cairo. Now, they're two years into retirement and starting to feel at loose ends. When they receive an enigmatic summons, they are forced to face a mission from the past that has come back to haunt them. Reunited aboard a cruise, juggling crafting classes and cocktail hours, the women try to save their own lives and solve the mystery of who wants them dead. Raybourn (A Grave Robbery) presents a playful suspense with an intricate plot. Narrators Jane Oppenheimer and Christina Delaine return for the second installment in Raybourn's "Killers of a Certain Age" series. Oppenheimer performs the bulk of the exciting espionage narrative, with Delaine delivering the few chapters that take place in the past, providing glimpses of the events that put the women in their present predicament. Both give expressive performances that create an engaging listening experience. VERDICT This audio will appeal to listeners seeking a funny, fast-paced suspense novel about spirited senior spies. Recommended for fans of Richard Osman, Rob Hart, and Robert Thorogood.--Lauren Hackert
