Come on Apple, where's Apple Music ‘Connect’? • The long-awaited launch of Qobuz Connect earlier this year was a huge win for the hi-fi industry, particularly for those who have a strong preference for streaming but who also want to be able to listen to their favourite tunes in the best possible quality. Now though, it leaves just one rather sizable hole left to be filled from a certain fruit-based global tech juggernaut. I am, of course, talking about Apple Music. The highly popular music streaming service has seemingly been rather bullish in its stance on true lossless streaming, instead encouraging its users to continue using AirPlay to wirelessly stream music from an iPhone or Mac to their streaming component of choice. Here, Kash Kabir muses on what an ‘Apple Connect’ future might look like.
Obituary: Tom Waters • Tom Waters, a long-time contributor to Australian Hi-Fi magazine and a long-time president of the Sydney Audio Club, died peacefully on August 7, 2025, after a four-year battle with multiple myeloma.
